Atelier

Marlow cuts a small ready-to-wear floor: coats that clear a knit, trousers with a real thigh, and shirts you can press at home. The pieces on the floor are the collection. There is no separate drop and no waiting list.

Cloth and care

Cloth is named on each piece, with the care it actually needs. Wool is brushed and aired. Cotton is washed. Silk is cleaned, not guessed at.

Fit notes describe the cut. They are not a lab chart, and they are not a promise that two bodies wear one size the same way.

Shipping and payment

Shipping is $8.00, and free when the pieces total at least $200.00. Picking the order up at the shop is always free: Marlow, 14 Selvedge Row, Providence, Rhode Island 02903, Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm. You can check out as a guest; an account only keeps the order under your name.

You choose how to pay, and Marlow records the method. It never takes a card number.

  • Pay at the shop, for an order you pick up
  • Bank transfer
  • Cash when it arrives, for an order shipped to you

How an order leaves

  1. Order placed

The order is in the book, and its pieces are held off the floor.

  2. Being prepared

The workroom gathers the pieces and packs them, or sets them aside at the counter.

  3. On its way, or ready to pick up

The parcel leaves with the carrier, or the order waits at the counter. Either way, an email says so.

  4. Delivered, or picked up

    The pieces are with you.

You can cancel an order until it leaves the shop, or, when you pick it up, until you do: signed in, from the order's page, and for an order placed without an account, by giving the shop its reference. Its pieces go back on the floor.
